OLYMPIC GAMES ON THE HORIZON

LANGEBAAN:- Leander Pholman (16y), current South African Elsen Schools champion, take victories in his respective items in which he participated the past weekend,

He therefore qualifies to participate in the Boland – Western Cape Cross Country and the SA Schools Championship competitions.

Yes, if injuries stay away, with his exceptional athletic talent, he can even start dreaming of being a member of the SA Olympic team in a little more than a year.

But to realize that Olympic dream, there are quite a few appointments to fulfill on South African athletic courses. The athlete’s resume is impressive, and with each participation in a sports event, it improves.

As already mentioned,  last weekend Leander won the 400m and 800m Western Cape titles for the second year running.  What is remarkable about the athlete’s exceptional performances is that his times this season have improved a lot compared to times he ran last year.
He was therefore once again selected for the Boland – Western Cape teams to participate in Germiston, and also the South African National Schools championships.

The Boland – Western Cape championships take place from the 2nd to the 5th of April 2023. However, his participation depends on sponsors or donations from the general public.

“It is not easy for his parents, but according to Lee – Andy (mother) it is becoming increasingly difficult to meet her son’s needs.” “That’s why we would really appreciate it,  if people can help us with any donation”
