SOCCER – KIDS ASK FOR SUPPORT

Hopefield is the only town on the West Coast that has never had a football club. On the sports field, however, there are always children kicking the round ball around after school or at weekends.

Pienaar Nthotso, the coach, is from Vredenburg, but works and lives in Hopefield every week.  The team has been busy for more than a month now, but according to Nthotso, he needs more balls to teach the boys ball skills. Hopefield is one of the towns on the Cape’s West Coast that has absolutely no sports facilities for children or teenagers. Children mostly wander aimlessly on the streets, and we at West Coast Sports Solutions (WCSS) try to accommodate all sporting codes.

An U/19 sevens rugby tournament was held in Moorreesburg on September 23rd to raise funds, precisely to help sporty children. Although 13 teams participated, spectators shone in their absence. No sponsor could be obtained in time either, and on the day in question the Springboks played against Ireland. So the winning teams could not receive their promised prize money. However, the day was still a success.

Our organizers are already approaching businesses, so that the tournament can be successfully presented again next year.

Large businesses that are interested in getting involved can call: – Adrè Pietersen on Cell: – 071 183 4528 or send an email to admin@wcsportssolutions.co.za

Any individual or company that wants to support Western Cape Sports Solutions, you will get the necessary recognition on our website, social media, and on some print media platforms.

It’s a fact that many businesses, small or large, are currently struggling under the financial economy, due to the tremendous increase in the cost of living in South Africa.

But if you could help us, it would be greatly appreciated.
