Mcnolan Plaatjies, coach of the wrestling club proudly told why he decided to coach the children in wrestling. “Wrestling is a martial art and combat sport that includes grips to pin down your opponent with different grips and techniques within the specified rules”.  “The club currently affiliates under the Ceres Wrestling Club, of the Cape Winelands District”.  “The club consists of 13 active amateur wrestlers, 2 girls and 11 boys, who currently train on Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Village Fitness Gym”.

“Girls and boys who are interested in joining the club are more than welcome”, Plaatjies said..

Our  aim is for youngsters to practice the necessary technique and physical strength and good conditioning. But largely to avoid them from the evils out there,  According to Plaatjies, this year’s   annual Western Cape Province’s Wrestling event is the biggest and it takes place at the Stellenbosch University, in Coetzenburg.  The competition takes also place there during the school holidays from September., 26 till 28th.  Eight of the club’s amateur wrestlers were selected, to participate in the event in question, which is a special privilege for the club, which was founded a few months ago.

“Our team at West Coast Sports Solutions wish the team the best of luck, as they are already our Heroes, making the West Coast people very proud with what they have already achieved”.

“But unfortunately we need financial help to make that dream possible for our children”.  “Each child needs R2500, which includes their food, tracksuits, travel and accommodation”.
“Hereby we ask the West Coast to make the dream possible for our children, and to those who have already made a contribution,

“God bless you”
