SA CROSS COUNTRY DATES ANNOUNCED

RIEBEEK WEST; – It does not always help to plan ahead, things can sometimes overturn your plans in the blink of an eye

Uwaal Samuels (19y) and Leander Pholman (16y) ran two slow laps around the field, just to warm up the muscles a bit.

The team’s visit to Worcester to take part in the 5km Chasing Legends Koopman Race was cut short by texting late on Friday night.  The intended race is now taking place on Saturday 7th May, and unfortunately we had other plans.  Those other plans were to take part in the funRun at !Khwa ttu on the West Coast road.  Unfortunately, it was also cut short on Monday, with the announcement that the SA Cross Country competition will start on Saturday 7 May.
With  Saturday’s trip to Worcester cancelled, I decided to take the athletes to Riebeek West, for a team talk.  They did light stretching exercises on the RVS school’s sports field, and just enjoyed the moment together.

Abigail Fortuin (18y) and brother Greyton Esterhuisen (14y) also enjoying the running around the school field….This coming weekend is Easter, so no one is going to think about athletics, and just enjoy their Easter eggs.  On the 23rd of May the Laguna Mall races take place in Langebaan. This will do a lot of good for any athlete, before the very important heats of the SA Cross Country start …

A special thanks goes to Donovan Samuels of Urban-link of Property Business Commercial who, thanks to a financial contribution, made it possible for the athletes to make the trip to Riebeeck West.

The sponsorship was intended for the trip to Worcester, but the race was postponed until May 7 at short notice by the organizers.  Without sponsors, it would be impossible for us at WCSS to support any athlete.

Whatever your property needs, they can assist!
