Langebaan’s athletic prodigy, Leander Pholman, is preparing to take on the world at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon, USA, from 14th to 24th June 2025.
His selection for this prestigious event is a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
Leander has already made history on the track, breaking several records from the age of 15.
He broke and now owns the South African Elsen Schools 400m record, while also clocking the best 800m time in his category. In addition, he shattered the Boland U/17 400m and high jump records, improving them in 2022 and 2023, respectively. His performances have firmly established him as one of the brightest young athletes in the country.
